Seoul is a very complex city, from the pictures i have taken of the city’s silhouettes, I want to offer a different vision of Seoul, where everything would be put to flat.
There are four layers representing differents aspects : the cultural treasures of korean folklore, the lively areas , the business iine of skyscrapers and the mountain backgrounds.
They move like Seoul who is a very active and dynamic city, but they can also reveal a more vivid and colourful side once the key of Seoul is found.
The installation can be used by people interacting with the application or run on its own to attract people to it.

There are numerous neon signs in Seoul. They have their own unique style. Red and white cross are one of typical (neon) signs in Seoul. many motels and entertainment places show off their cheesy style. They make Seoul vigorous and alive at night. Listen to the sound of neon signs in Seoul.

I choose city hall for location because it is a center of Seoul and it is also very Seoul like.
People say Seoul is cold. I think one of the reason is that it has no color (or too many colors) so I want to put some simple colors and make Seoul fresh and different.
I was inspired by an abstract painting and Qix game. It would make viewers having fun from a center of the city.

This video concept is based on the different fluctuations in seoul. You have different steps in one typical journey in seoul. The first on is a representation of the empty space, the people of seoul were already in the subway that the “Hide Seoul” showed. The Second step is the transition, when the people go out, So you say : “Hi Seoul !”. The Third is the streets with a lot of people, seoul is full, is the soul side….with stress and noise…And next what is it ? The night, another hidden face….

In a global way this video is the first step, before the installation. This is a introduction of the different views of seoul.

Concept
Seoul is too complex and noisy. Because Seoul is being changing so fast and dynamically. Therefore, I focused on showing the feeling of tuning of Seoul with elcetric pole which is existed everywhere in Seoul. Seoul will come into the spotlight in the world. Stay tuned in Seoul!

Electric pole
The shape of pole is too complex but it has boundless potentiality because of it’s own power.

Our concept is based on people feeds on downtown. We will achieve an interface which will allow to visualise thoses feeds on a graphic way, using the water metaphor. We will use some sensors to analize downtown and his feeds. The name of the project is based on the feeds/fluids metaphor.

Each person is punctuated by the beat of his heart, in the same way to Seoul pulses.
These pulses similar to the beats come from the heart of the city, depicted by the circle line (line2).
As a body, subway distributes life everywhere in Seoul, following a precise rhythm.
Each place is the scene of a cocktail between life, architecture and poetry which creates a musical
inspiration.

The Hangang cycleway is a great way to get a look into the “Soft Seoul”.
This video is a demo of a concept how to get a new fun memory of Seoul.
